888 McDonald Ave
Brooklyn, NY

You’re cordially invited to the third annual Ayalga Cultural Festival! This festival encourages young generations of Buryats in New York and New Jersey to learn and sustain the Buryat language by celebrating the art of Buryat traditional song. Not just a concert, the festival also gives participating community youth the rare opportunity to study with language, dance, and music teachers for several weeks prior to stepping onto the stage. “Ayalga” means melody!

The festival will include performances by youth and elders in the community; CTMD Touring Artists Zerd, an ensemble featuring the master horsehead fiddler Dmitry Ayurov and Buryat singer Ayusha Sanzhiev; and Aya Ganga, an ensemble that presents and teaches yokhor, a traditional Buryat circle dance.

The festival is completely FREE and open to the public! No tickets or reservations needed – just come as you are. Whether you’re a Buryat music buff or you’re just curious about Inner Asian performing arts traditions, this festival is for you!

We’re so pleased that this year’s Ayalga Cultural Festival will be held in person! Masking is optional but encouraged. This event is co-presented by the Buryaad Mongol United Association and CTMD. Generous support for this event comes from the National Endowment for the Arts. For more information, email ayalgaculturalfestival@gmail.com.

See you there!
