Made in NYC: Next Generation Traditions

A series of interactive community-based programs that blend performance, workshop, scholarship, and discussion throughout the five boroughs of NYC. Programming includes concerts and lecture demonstrations featuring local National Heritage Fellows and other master traditional artists with whom CTMD has had a storied relationship, panels & pop-up expos featuring intergenerational practitioners of various NYC traditions, neighborhood cultural tours, and workshop forums highlighting next generation practitioners gaining momentum within their communities and beyond.

Again live from Pregones in the South Bronx, this dynamic program will be presented in partnership with Los Pleneros de la 21's En El Patio series, and include a full length concert following a special panel discussion with the musicians led by Dr. Cesar Colon Montijo. With a lineup that includes both Los Pleneros de la 21 and Redobles de Cultura, come experience four decades and three generations of bomba and plena in our City that never sleeps.
