Made in NYC: Sidiki Conde and Friends celebrates the Center for Traditional Music and Dance’s 50th Anniversary and the CTMD’s long history of work with NYC’s West African traditional artists with a performance by NEA National Heritage Fellow and Guinean master drummer and dancer Sidiki Conde and his group Tokounou. A joyful afternoon of West African drumming and dancing, the concert will also feature members of Sidiki’s Messages of Hope project, an ongoing series of West African drumming workshops for US Military veterans at the Bronx Vet Center.
