A walking/bus tour of several fascinating neighborhoods in Queens, NY; also known as Registan Park (Rego Park) and Bukharian Broadway (Forest Hills). Learn about the Jewish community that has lived along the Silk Road for over 2000 years, in cities such as Samarkand, Dushanbe and Tashkent. Now largely resettled in diasporic enclaves in Queens and Israel, we’ll explore how community members continue to preserve unique Central Asian traditions while creating one of New York’s most vibrant contemporary Jewish communities.
