CTMD Touring artists Oyu Oro Afro Cuban Dance Ensemble and the Calpulli Mexican Dance Ensemble perform at the Lotus Music and Dance Center’s World Dance Passport Festival. In addition to their explorations of music and dance from Veracruz and Jalisco states in Mexico and of the Yoruban, Dahomey, and Congo-Palo roots of Afro-Cuban music and dance, the artists briefly share their immigrant stories with a short Q&A to follow.
This outdoor event will be an in-person concert, but following municipal quarantine guidelines closely. It is presented in partnership with Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Due to limited space, attendees are encouraged to register early.
