*Klezmer is traditional Jewish instrumental music originating in East Europe, and now performed in communities around the world. CTMD has been involved in advancing an international revival of klezmer since the 1970s. Click here and scroll down to see footage of a 1978 concert by klezmer clarinetist Dave Tarras produced by CTMD (then the Balkan Arts Center) with Andy Statman and Zev Feldman.

This program was presented by the An-sky Institute for Yiddish Culture, a project of the Sholem Aleichem Cultural Center and the Center for Traditional Music and Dance.
