The FolkCOLOMBIA Escuela de Danza y Música will resume with Spring classes beginning Saturday, March 9, for kids 5 to 15 years of age!
This Spring, FolkCOLOMBIA will teach three important Colombian music and dance traditions:
• “El Porro” – a rhythm from the Atlantic coast, with master drummer Nestor Gomez leading the class.
• “El sanjuanero” – Rubén Dario Mejia (Dance teacher) will present this Andean dance tradition.
• “Las Farotas” – master dance teacher Karla Florez will be instructing the classes in this dance from Colombia’s Atlantic coast.
