Los Pleneros de la 21

For this special episode of BBNYCO, Los Pleneros de la 21, an intergenerational group of musicians and cultural leaders take over the Bronx Music Heritage Center stage. This phenomenal group of Afro-Puerto Rican artists conducts a dynamic and interactive workshop featuring the musical forms plena music and the role of call and response in this genre. Ensemble members perform and demonstrate original and standard plena songs and demonstrate the basic components of this iconic Puerto Rican musical genre. This episode was created in partnership with the Flurry Festival and the Bronx Music Heritage Center.
