Dilhan Pinnagoda and Nisali Silva from CTMD Touring Artist ensemble the Sri Lankan Dance Academy of NY present authentic examples of the Sri Lankan art form of Kandyan dance. While Silva demonstrates the intricate hand movements and heavy stomping of the Kandyan dance, Pinnagoda instructs and plays the geta bera. As cultural ambassadors, SLDA’s gurus and dancers consistently work with new audiences to pass on their artistry and skill.
